Jakarta, December 28, 2022 - On November 21, 2022, an earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 5.6 occurred in Cianjur Regency, West Java. The impact was enormous, including many residents who died, were injured and were forced to lose their homes due to collapsed buildings. Earthquakes are of course inevitable, many parties have come to provide assistance to local residents who are still displaced, also to areas that still need to be reached.
PFI Mega Life took part in seeking information about the surrounding situation after the earthquake hit and provided a number of assistance to the victims who had not yet received maximum assistance.
On December 26, 2022, a number of employees from PFI Mega Life carried out Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities by visiting the earthquake disaster site directly, by traveling about 4 hours from Jakarta by car and accompanied by unfavorable weather, with great enthusiasm and determination finally arrived at Mangun Kerta Village, Cibenang District, Kampung Mangun.
The PFI Mega Life CSR team also conducted a few interviews with one of the heads of families who were affected by the disaster. It was stated that it was difficult to get clean water and also that many of the residents' children were now suffering from colds and coughs due to the weather and unfavorable living conditions.
A number of aids were distributed by the PFI Mega Life CSR Team to residents in Mangun Kerta Village through the local RW head in the form of dry food, clothing and mats that could be used for residents during evacuation. About 70 (seventy) heads of families are targeted to receive the aid package. "This disaster is of course very sad, especially hearing the many victims, injured and residents who had to lose their homes. PFI Mega Life tries its best to provide assistance by reaching areas that may not yet have maximum access. What PFI Mega Life provides certainly cannot replace what has been taken from the residents, but at least what we provide hopefully can help the situation.
